Study and Commentaries on New Age Discipleship - 2

We continue our study of DINA books. The points are phrases taken from Vol 1 while my own understanding follows with -.

1. Each person's instructions are given in their ordered sequence, year by year, so that a real picture of the person concerned, of his problems and his achievement or lack of achievement, emerges clearly. This book is encouraging in that it offsets the idea that to be a pledged disciple one is, therefore, set apart by perfection of character and isolated by the aspiration which inspires the life. These are people with problems, struggling to solve them; with character limitations which they are endeavouring to overcome; they are true instances of any man or woman who turns his back upon the usual approach to the world of material affairs and takes up his cross in order to find his way back to the Father's home; they picture for us the man who, having "put his hand to the plough," turns not back but presses forward "towards the prize of his high calling in Christ."

- Here it is important to note that perfection as projected into our consciousness is a trick played by the dark lodge. Many of us do not even attempt to walk the path feeling that we cannot be possibly good enough to aim for it. (As an example some of my Christian friends say that they were taught being born as sinners).

2. In every case, the disciple is told what are the types of energy to which he most easily responds and upon which ray or divine emanation he finds himself. He, therefore, becomes aware of what constitutes his line of least Upon one or other of these seven Rays, the souls of all forms of life are to be found as well as the forms themselves. These seven rays produce the seven major psychological types.

- I have covered these rays in some of the earlier posts. It is of value to note that one can estimate his/her rays. Although these methods are yet to be perfected you can download the PIP3 software from Morya Federation or else if you know your birth time (almost accurately) you can download the astrolog 7.6 from Walter pullen to estimate them based on astrology. You can then average them out through your intuition to know your ray composition (your esoteric psychology profile). If you wish to get an overview of this then soul-centred astology book ny Alan Oaken is easiest one to read.

3. However, only when a man is highly developed and nearing the Path of Discipleship is it possible for the esoteric student accurately to surmise what his ray may be. People of all kinds and professions are found on all the rays. The conflict in a disciple's life is found to lie in the fact that the ray of his soul and the ray of his integrated personality are posed against each other. At the same time, his emotional nature, his mental equipment and his physical brain are also controlled by some one or other of the rays and in this fivefold relationship lies hid much of the problem of the evolving human being. The Tibetan tells the members of His group which five rays condition them and students will learn much by a study of what He says. In the cases where I happen to know the disciple concerned personally and something of his problems, it was amazingly interesting to me to note how infallibly right the Tibetan was in His diagnosis of the rays involved.

- Bailey again acknowledges that DK is a wise teacher who makes almost accurate analysis of the rays of his disciples.

4. It is of importance that you realise that today something new is happening. There is the emergence of a new kingdom in nature, the fifth kingdom; this is the Kingdom of God on earth or the kingdom of souls. It is precipitating on earth and will be composed of those who are becoming group-conscious and who can work in group formation. This will be possible, because these people will have achieved a self-initiated perfection (even if relative in nature) and will be identified with certain group expansions of consciousness. It will also be because they have arrived at love of their fellowmen, just as they have loved themselves in the past. Think on this with clarity, my brothers, and grasp, if you can, the full significance of this last sentence.

- DK clearly indicates that only when those of us who are consciously attempting to walk the path (of discipleship) achieve the ealier initiations and become group conscious and manifest brotherhood that the Kingdom of God can manifest on this planet. As I write this is yet to be achieved (and it will take whole of the Aquarian age I believe before we understand and manifest it).

5. The process will follow three lines: A. Individual effort, made by the individual disciple, using the technique of detachment, of dispassion and of discrimination which the Buddha taught. B. Group initiation, made possible by the self-initiated effort of individual disciples, following out the injunctions of the Christ and leading to a complete subordination of the personality and of the unit to group interest and group good. C. Group endeavour, carried forward as a group, to love all beings and to apprehend and understand the true significance of the Aquarian technique of group love and work.

- DK is emphasizing that in the new Age we will be required to work in groups or what JJ calls molecules. An isolated individual will not be able to handle the forces or energies required to manifest those changes required on the physical plane.

Aphorisms as seed-thoughts

Subsequent to our discussion on seed-thoughts, another great example of seed-thouht I think is an aphorism. The complete agni-yoga series of books by Roerichs are aphorisms of Ethical living (and give Ray 1 flavour of fiery will to the yoga of synthesis). Similarly the temple aphorisms of Francia A. La Due give a Ray 5 flavour of occult science to the works of H.P. Blavatsky and William Q. Judge. We quote those aphorims (as seed-thoughts) from temple teachings of Master H. (with his image):  "Days come and days go, but if thou watchest thou shalt see: THE LOAD thou hast laid on the heart of a friend will God transfer to thine own heart; heavy as it presses on the heart of thy friend, heavier will it press on thine own heart in the days to come. THE STONE thou hast cast from the path of the blind will smite the adder lying in wait for thee. THE WEIGHT thou hast clamped on the feet of another will drag thine own feet into Hadean desolation. THE SHELTER thou hast given the wayfa...

Esoteric astrology & psychology of Alexander Grothendieck part 1

A disciple from the inner ashram of Hilarion (Ray 5) I am trying to discern here energetic (seven rays) pattern in Grothendieck's esoterically challenging life through perspectives offered by Esoteric Astrology, Psychology and the Science of Seven Rays. The exoteric life details of this great disciple can be found on Grothendieck Circle Website, which will be the reference for the exoteric facts of this post. 1. Grothendieck (born in Germany) remained stateless throughout his life but choose to settle in a country (France) whose Soul Ray is fifth and Personality ray is Third reflecting his estimated ray profile through my research. 2. I hypothesize that Grothendieck subconsciously responded to energies from the Avatar of Synthesis by influencing the work of Saunders Maclane giving rise to a foundational branch (although he didn't give first definition of a category) of Mathematics called Category theory which is precisely the synthesis of entire mathematics (not yet fully ackno...

The Yoga of Synthesis Diary Leaves 4

Album The Yoga of Synthesis  Dated 22 January 2025 The Yoga Sutras of Patanjali give us four stages of meditation and when applied on symbols we find: 1. First, as the form is pondered upon, the realisation begins to dawn that it is but a symbol of an inner reality. 2. Second, there is a recognition of the quality or nature of the form—its subjective energy, the quality of the force that seems to flow through it, the emotion that the symbol arouses. 3. Third, as we concentrate on considering the quality, we arrive next at the purpose, the motive, and the idea that the symbol has held concealed. 4. Fourth, in the final stage of identification, one becomes at one with the symbol; one shares its quality; one participates in its purpose, and through these stages one arrives at a unity with the creator of the form. When applied to the four symbols (of Helena Blavatsky, Sri Aurobindo and The Mother, Alice Bailey, and the category-theoretic model of Cause-Meaning/Quality-Effect), we...
